Street dance lives on video, scattered across a million YouTube uploads that nobody can navigate. DanceDeets is an attempt to organize all of it — every battle, dancer, lesson and scene — into an archive you can actually explore.

The footage already exists. What's missing is structure: which battles made up a tournament, who won them, what a dancer's whole career looks like, which city a jam happened in. DanceDeets rebuilds that structure and then lets you enter it through whichever lens you care about.

The lenses

BattlesTournaments rebuilt into their brackets — every round, every upset, with the video behind each match. BattlersA career at a glance: every battle, the record, the rivalries, the home scene. CrewsCrew battles and showcase crews — rosters read from the footage, records by year, cities seen in. ScenesThe world map — what the dance scene looks like in any given city. TutorialsLessons organized into real courses, by style and by teacher. TeachersWho actually teaches the culture — ranked by the classes and series they taught. StudiosThe physical studios, read from their own channels: who teaches there and which styles. InterviewsThe culture on the record — conversations, documentaries and podcasts.

How it's built

Everything is reconstructed from public YouTube metadata — playlists, titles, descriptions — read and organized by AI, then published as a static archive. It's an experiment in whether a scene this large can be catalogued without anyone hand-entering a single result. It gets things wrong sometimes, but hoping to add a means for you to correct things at some point.
